NexSys researchers gather at two-day meeting in Galway
The NexSys strategic partnership programme held a two-day all-team gathering in Galway on 21 and 22 May.
The event, held at Galway Bay Hotel, brought together a diverse group of 91 researchers from different research strands to share ideas and discuss ongoing collaboration in the context of the energy transition.
This was the first time the entire NexSys team got together for an in-person event since the launch of the programme in May 2022.
Across the two days, participants had a chance to network and update each other on progress in each of the NexSys research strands, with opportunities for integration across disciplines.
On day 1, targeted sessions allowed each strand to meet and discuss research in depth, with plenary sessions identifying and building key research integration topics across every NexSys Strand.
The targeted sessions focused on: the Water-Energy Nexus; Offshore Wind and Energy Systems; Cities & Communities and Energy Systems, and Exploring Flexibility at Community Level; Transport - Energy Systems Roadmap; and Energy Systems, Transmission, Economics & Markets.
On day 2, dedicated sessions were held on education and public engagement, innovation and technology transfer, and the social dimension of NexSys’ research. Learn more about NexSys: (opens in a new window)https://www.nexsys-energy.ie/
