UCD has joined the(opens in a new window) European Academy of Wind Energy, an international non profit organisation comprising 56 universities in Europe and the USA.
This move was championed by NexSys, with support from the UCD Energy Institute.
The academy, which is made up of a community of worldwide experts in wind energy, aims to promote and support the development of wind energy science.
“We are delighted that UCD has joined this prestigious organisation, and I would like to thank NexSys for the support,” says Dr Vikram Pakrashi, Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering in UCD and NexSys Co-PI and Offshore Wind Strand lead.

“We look forward to enhancing our collaborations on the science and engineering of wind energy and working with the institutions within the academy,” added Assistant Professor Abdollah Malekjafarian, lead of Nexsys Offshore Wind Theme 3.
