Several NexSys researchers will present their work at the Pint of Science Ireland Festival 2025, which will take place from 19 to 21 May 2025. This festival provides an excellent opportunity for both our researchers and the public to connect and discuss NexSys's recent findings in an accessible and engaging format.
Event Details
Several presentations are scheduled at The Storyteller (9 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2), including:
19 May: "Greener Paths & Hidden Currents"
- Clíodhna Ní Shé: "Smarter routes for EV deliveries" (Using maths to optimise routes for electric vehicle delivery drivers and incorporating a realistic energy consumption model—saving time, cutting costs, and reducing emissions for a greener future).
- Hugo Jacque: "Saving Water: The Good, The Bad, and the Unknown" (Exploring unexpected trade-offs in water conservation)
- Ciarán Mac Domhnaill: "Sailing past Brexit" (Brexit didn’t just affect borders – it reshaped sea shipping. Find out why Irish cargo is skipping Great Britain and sailing straight to Europe instead).
20 May: "AI in Society: Gender, Literacy, and the Future of Climate Policy"
- Robin Rauner: "From Promises to Policies: Mapping the Evolution of Ireland's Climate Commitments" (Insights from three decades of climate commitments in election manifestos and Government programmes, exploring their evolution, implications for democratic accountability, and AI's role in policy research).
Additional NexSys Support
