NexSys postdoc researcher (opens in a new window)Maryam Roudneshin was honoured to win the Research Category at the (opens in a new window)Engineers Ireland(opens in a new window)MEETA Asset Management Awards 2025 🌟
Maryam was delighted to share the news that the TR3 research team working under the Transport Strand of the (opens in a new window)NexSys Research Programme, has won the Research Category at the (opens in a new window)MEETA Asset Management Awards 2025 which was organised by (opens in a new window)Engineers Ireland.
The TR3 team's project focuses on developing an innovative, data-driven framework to support Ireland’s transition to low-emission and resilient transport systems. Through NexSys, they have combined geospatial, economic, and traffic datasets to identify where investments in EV-charging infrastructure can deliver the greatest environmental and operational impact.
Project highlight:
The team integrated GeoDirectory building intelligence, traffic counts, agricultural datasets, and business activity records to build a national model linking commercial activity to freight intensity and emissions. This provides a transformative, evidence-based approach for strategic investment planning across Ireland.
Maryam also thanked Professor (opens in a new window)Aisling Reynolds-Feighan for her continuous support, guidance, and mentorship throughout this work.
Well done Maryam and team on this excellent achievement! You are doing amazing work!
