In September 2024, NexSys held a one-day conference entitled “Towards a greener horizon: Sustainable Energy Finance”, showcasing the importance of sustainable finance for the energy transition. The event, which took place at UCD Newman House on St Stephen’s Green in Dublin, spanned topics ranging from deployment of capital to support the energy transition, to industrial-scale greenwashing and the benefits or otherwise of ESG frameworks.
Crucially, the event facilitated strategic dialogues that addressed the needs of both industry and academia. Co-designed by the NexSys Finance theme lead Professor Julie Byrne, based in Dublin City University, and NexSys industry partner Davy, the Sustainable Energy Finance Conference represented industry, policy, and academic perspectives, ensuring relevance for all stakeholders.
