The UCD Energy Institute/NexSys Seminar Series 04 February 2026 with Orla Dingley
(opens in a new window)Orla Dingley is this week's speaker at the seminar series here at the UCD Energy Institute. Orla is a PhD Researcher in the UCD School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice and is part of the Cities & Communities team of the NexSys Research Programme. A key component of her research is to identify and evaluate eco-social policies which address both the environmental and social challenges associated with energy. The title of her thesis is ‘Energy Justice: Addressing Transport & Residential Energy Poverty’
Orla earned an MSc in Sociology from UCD in 2022. She is Interested in the study of societal norms, social problems and issues of inequality. However, she is also interested in Environmental Science and has co-authored two papers in the field of Atmospheric Science.
